In my previous posts I have lead you through how to make an AppleScript that can use to open a particular website URL in a particular browser. You can drag these Apple scripts to your dock to instantly access any URL from your dock. Obviously the next step is you will want to give these AppleScripts their own icon so that you can identify them from the dock easily. This is really easy to do in OS X.

If Safari is running slowly or not doing something it should a reset may fix it. This last week when I typed a word or phrase into the search bar of Safari, it would not do a search. After I reset Safari it started working again. Here is how to reset your Safari Web browser.

This is a bit of an advanced tip for web developers. Safari used to have a menu item called ‘View Page Source’. If you selected this you could see the HTML code of the website you were viewing. This option has been removed from recent versions of Safari but you can re-enable it by turning on Safari’s Develop menu.

I recently was sent a link to a movie file in someone’s dropbox via email. No matter what I did I couldn’t get it to download. Safari wanted to play it. To download the movie I needed to click in the safari address bar, paste the link, and then press option-return which downloaded the movie instead of playing it.
