Preview

Apple Keynote has an option when you are importing a photo to “scale” it to fit to a slide. For some reason it will down-scale a larger picture to fit on a small slide but it won’t scale a small picture up. Here’s how to take a lot of photos and scale them all up or down so that they each take up a full keynote slide.  This is the fastest way to make a slide show from a lot of images very quickly.

I was recently given a Pages document to print for someone but the picture was too dark. In this article I described how to get a photo out of keynote, so I thought I’d give it a go with Pages – it worked!  I was able to extract the Photo as full resolution, edit it in Photos App, then put it back in the Pages document to print. Here’s how.

Depending on what program you used to create a PDF, the file size of your PDF file can be quite large. If you combine two or three PDF files together using preview, you can also end up with a bloated PDF file.  The best way to reduce PDF file size is with Acrobat professional, which can do all sorts of magic on PDF files. Sadly we can’t all afford Acrobat Professional, so here is a free way to make a PDF file smaller.

Reduce file size will degrade your photo quality. Use it wisely.
