How to undo typing on your iPhone or iPad

Did you know that if you shake your iPhone you can undo your last action to do with typing? This can be really handy.

On iPhones, iPads and iPod touches, there is no obvious “Undo” button. If you double tap the text you’ve just written, a menu pops up with “Paste”, “Select”, etc, but there is no “Undo”. This can be really frustrating if you’ve spent ages writing a long email, and you accidentally delete it all with one tap.

Fortunately, there is an easy solution – just shake your iPhone firmly and this little “Undo Typing” message will pop up. If you tap “Undo”, then your last typing action will be deleted, whether it was typing a sentence, editing a word, or accidentally deleting an entire email that you spent half a hour writing.
