There is no simple built-in way to change the folder colour in OSX. But this free app does it. Drag a folder onto it and it will change it’s colour!

Thanks for picking that up – Beeper Desktop is for Mac plus they have a phone version.
You don’t say if this Beeper app is for Mac or for iOS/iPadOS, and I can’t really tell by looking…
THis is so handy – still using it in 2026!
