I just got a Samsung SGH D900i mobile phone but it doesn’t sync address book contacts across bluetooth or USB with isync becasue isync only syncs with the D900.
I modified the isync plugin and now it’s working!
Here’s how to get it going… and after some comments I also added a version for the samsung G600 mobile phone.
There’s also a version for Optus Bird phones here.
- Download this file and unzip it, you should end up with a folder called Samsung-D900.phoneplugin.
- Go to applications, isync and right click or control click and go to ‘show package contents’
- Open the isync Contents folder, then Plugins, then ApplePhoneConduit.syncdevice, then Contents, then Plugins.
- Drag my Samsung-D900.phoneplugin file into that folder, next to all the other phone plugin files. it will ask if you want to overwrite the existing folder, say Overwrite.
- Make sure bluetooth is turned on on your phone (applications bluetooth) , and on your computer (preferences/bluetooth). Choose add new bluetooth device under the bluetooth preference pane on your macintosh and add your phone. Open isync and it should now sync with your new D900i.
Note: if you want to mount your D900i as a USB drive that is a separate issue, look here.
If you find this helpful please consider a link to this site! Thanks.
Some people have asked for a G600 version. No idea if this will work but you could try this one: http://macintohshowto.com/public/Samsung-G600.phoneplugin.zip. It’s just the D 900i with the name changed. Same instructions as above but I’d delete the D900 plugin as it may clash with his one. Let me know if it works!
Works great man!!!! Thank you a million times!!!
Hi, Any progress on the G600 plugin?
HI,

Regarding the g6oo versus macbook pro (OSX) – anyone aware of any developments on previous posts that suggest that there may be fix to allow the g600 to talk to a macbook pro? thanks.

Fantastic, you are so very clever. Next question, can I browse the internet on my D900i by adding the imac as another profile?
Hey,
Just got the new MacBook (aluminum case) but this plugin doesn’t seem to work. I have tried both methods of overwriting in iSync and creating a folder called ‘PhonePlugins’ however neither are working. iSync just says it cannot connect with that type of phone. Any help is much appreciated.

This think is awesome! But does anyone know how to sync SMS???
Brand spanking new to this forum but I’m going to follow it for a while… I have a G600 also, just wondering if anyone knows of any phones very similar to this in architecture, perhaps using an other plugin for a different model and renaming it to work with the G600? I’ve no idea about plugins and how they work from a software point of view but surely if another phone is very similar this might work? At least for some functionality until someone makes a fully working plugin!
HI , is this working for a Samsung AFh-736 .? Could you help me ???

Hi… This looks like a good place to post my query…
Is there any way to get the SMS msgs off my d900 and on to either my Mac or on to another phone?
I can’t use the phone as the number has been ported to another phone and the sim card is dead…
The other phone is an iPhone, so I don’t think I can copy the msgs to the simcard and just put it in the iphone
I’ve just picked up a Samsung SGH-a885 phone. No one told me this piece of crap wouldn’t be recognized but OS X (of course I never thought to ask). What’s with Apple? What difference does it make if Samsung supports them or not? Any way, I installed the plug-in on this page and it doesn’t work with this phone (now how do I Uninstall it?). Are there plug-ins available to make this phone work with Snow Leopard?
BTW, does anyone know of a similar forum for the LG GW525 / Calisto? The wife is envious of my newfound cache of phone hacking experts.
Can you share a procedure for Samsung star 5233s. For that matter a general way to sync phones that are not compatible with isync on machintosh…
I love my phone but not being able to sync is a drawback.
