This website is a labour of love. It doesn’t have a business plan. I don’t have a lot of time to put into it. Basically, if I discover something that’s useful, I type it up and share it here.
Mostly it’s for your sake – I want other people to be able to find the answer easily because I wasted a lot of time working it out myself. I like helping others with the gifts/knowledge/life experience that God has given me Sometimes though it’s purely self-motivated! I want to record something so that if I come back to the same thing 3 months later I can remember how I solved it the first time – I’ve got a very short memory. :)
Either way, it tends to be that I’m typing an article when I’m fairly busy. I’ve just worked something out, and I whip up an article while it’s still fresh before I forget. What this means is a lot of the time I don’t even proofread it for grammatical or spelling mistakes. I just type it up and get on with what I was meant to be doing. Sometimes I come back a week later and fix my typos.
Occasionally I get blunt/ rude feedback telling me that if I’m publishing something on the Internet I should take the time to spellcheck it or not publish it at all. I agree that it’s good to have proper spelling in articles, but I’m also of the opinion that something with bad grammar is better than nothing at all, especially if it’s temporary. (Sorry about that!)
That brings mr to how you can help!
If you spot an error before someone else I’d love feedback. The best thing is to email me directly at wayne@dubbo.org or leave a comment on the article. Then I can go and fix them up straight away!
Also, I love the comments where people offer alternative solutions and some improvements on my how-tos, keep them coming!
Wayne
